Training Description
This on-demand presentation provides an overview of the rationale for and methods used to develop the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-Adolescent-Restructured Form (MMPI-A-RF), and the various materials available to score and interpret the test. The MMPI-A-RF features 48 empirically validated scales and takes only 25-30 minutes to administer. The MMPI-A-RF is a 241 item self-report measure that represents a downward extension of the structure of the MMPI-2–RF. The MMPI-A-RF scales are organized into validity scales and substantive scales, with substantive scales placed within hierarchical levels including Higher Order scales, Restructured Clinical (RC) scales, and Specific Problem scales. The test is designed to aid clinicians in identifying a broad array of mental disorders among adolescents in clinical, educational, forensic, and medical settings. The MMPI-A-RF is also designed to measure treatment progress when administered across varying points in the treatment process. This workshop will emphasize the uses of the MMPI-A-RF in criminal and civil forensic evaluations, illustrated by the use of case examples.
Officially authorized by the MMPI-A-RF’s publisher and presented by the author, this workshop is eligible for 4 hours of valuable Continuing Education Credit. It is recommended that attendees have access to the MMPI-A-RF Manual, purchasable through the instrument’s publisher, Pearson. For details, visit: http://www.pearsonclinical.com/
At the end of this training, you will be able to…
  • Identify the criteria for MMPI-A-RF administration
  • Understand the hierarchical scale structure of the MMPI-A-RF
  • Determine MMPI-A-RF validity based on validity scale results and patterns
  • Determine the appropriate forensic applications of the MMPI-A-RF
