Training Description
The Protective + Risk Observations For Eliminating Sexual Offense Recidivism (PROFESOR) is an innovative structured checklist by Dr. James Worling designed to assist professionals to identify and summarize protective and risk factors for adolescents and emerging adults between the ages of 12 to 25 years who have offended sexually. The PROFESOR is intended to assist with planning interventions that can help individuals to enhance their capacity for sexual and relationship health and, thus, eliminate sexual recidivism.
*IMPORTANT* This 1.5 hour free training is a brief introduction to the development of the PROFESOR and its intended uses. Professionals who wish to use the PROFESOR in practice should attend Dr. Worling's comprehensive PROFESOR live webinar training (www.gifrinc.com/PROFESOR).
Trainer Biography
James Worling, PhD is the developer of the PROFESOR. For over two decades, Dr. Worling has worked extensively with adolescents who have sexually offended, and their families, providing assessment, treatment, and consultation. During this time, he has presented many workshops internationally, and he has written numerous of professional articles and book chapters regarding the etiology, assessment, and treatment of adolescent sexual offending behaviours. Dr. Worling also provides assessment, treatment, and consultation services regarding youth violence and childhood sexual victimization. Dr. Worling is currently in full-time private practice, and he serves as an Associate Editor for Sexual Abuse: A Journal of Research & Treatment.
